Born in 1941 and raised at the Belgian sea side, Van Isacker found his initial source of inspiration at the coast.
The linear, constructional and repetitive aspects of piers, wave breakers and the horizon lay at the basis of his creations.
In the 1960's, he joined the Brussels Fine Art Academy where Russian realism and American propaganda art were important factors of influence. Focussing less on the significance of his subjects, his work became over time more precise, abstract, detailed and realistic. Till today, Van Isacker continues to create art in his atelier in Knokke, Belgium.
